I got a new camera. This has been a small dream of mine since I was a kid. I’ve had a few different cameras over the years, from old compacts to a proper DSLR, but looking back, none of them were ever really mine. They were always borrowed or shared with family. The one time I did have my own gear, it got liquidated to fund a little thing called survival. Life be damn. So, hell yes, I’m excited about this one!

It’s also kind of a birthday present to myself. Last year I got myself a road bike. This year, it’s a camera. Who knows what I’ll get next year? Although, judging by how expensive this hobby is, I might not have the budget for it, lol.

This is the first picture I took with it, the morning after. As usual, my morning routine involves making a pour over: 25g of Aceh Gayo roasted by NiR Coffee in Malang, Indonesia, brewed to 400ml on the Orea v4 and ground on my aging Fellow Ode. Don’t mind the espresso machine or the matcha whisk in the back. Maybe I’ll tell their stories someday.

So why does this site exist? I’m just not a fan of social media. It always leaves me feeling a bit drained, like I’m performing instead of sharing. This is my little corner of the internet instead, no algorithm, no likes, and most probably no visitor. Whatever ends up here, it’ll be built with ❤️
